RAF HARRIER GROUND ATTACK – FALKLANDS
The latest in the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum’s continuing series of aviation and modelling lectures is sure to appeal to all those with an interest in the Falklands conflict.
As a result of a special request from a small organisation that will be visiting the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum over the August Bank Holiday weekend, it has been possible to persuade Sqn Ldr Jerry Pook to repeat his fascinating talk on his activities during the Falklands Conflict.
Those of you who were lucky enough to attend this talk last year will know how enjoyable it was and will likely want to do it all again. Those that missed it last year won’t want to make the same mistake again…
Seating for this event will be in limited supply, as a result of sharing the evening with our guest organisation, so I would recommend that you reserve your seats as soon as possible…!
Sqn Ldr Jerry Pook was operational with 1 Sqn RAF during the Falklands War, taking part in a number of ground attack missions, flying the Harrier GR3. He safely ejected from his aircraft after sustaining damage to the aircraft’s fuel system during one of these missions, due to enemy ground fire.
Sqn Ldr Pook has recently had his book, detailing his Falklands War experiences, published and will be relating those experiences to those lucky enough to attend this lecture.
The date is Saturday, 23rd August, 2008, with a start time of 6.30 p.m. The venue is the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum, in Doncaster. Tickets are available priced at £7.50 and it is essential to pre-book, as tickets for this event will be limited in number.
For further information and to book tickets telephone the Museum on 01302 761616
Copies of Jerry’s book will be available for purchase on the night and Jerry will be happy to sign them, if required.
See you all there
