I promised to keep everyone informed as to the progress of Dr Harry Friedman’s and my book Memphis Belle – Dispelling the Myths. Well, at last today I took delivery of the first edition print run. So now I have a copy in my hands and the remainder in our warehouse – after some thirty years of research and 3 years of writing!
The book is hardback… five hundred and thirty-six pages… around one thousand illustrations… and yes, it’s £60.00 a copy
It will be launched at the Tower Museum, Bassingbourn on Friday 29th August – an event that day that is for pre-invited guests and media only. ‘Flypast’ have been invited, but sadly have declined.
There will be a public event the next day that is FREE to all, including admission to the Tower Museum! Just turn up at the guardroom and advise Security that you wish to be directed to the Tower Museum between 11am and 1.30 pm on Saturday 30th August. Please bring ID with you! Please note – Museum closed at 2pm!
Come on over… meet myself, Harry Friedman, the Tower Museum staff… buy a book and get it signed, have a look around the Museum and – if you want – get up close and personal to Canberra WJ 821, the Prop Memorial and some of the other external exhibits!
