There is no such thing as a good pint of John Smith’s, the stuff is bordering on poisonous.
I was talking to a pub landlord in Scarborough a year or so back and he said he kept it for people who didn’t like beer.

Visiting London Next Month
Welcome to GB! The bookshop at the National Archives at Kew is worth a look. It’s also an excellent place for lunch and a quarter of the price of the indifferent food at Hendon.;)

Motor Books is in St Martin’s Court…
My favorite aviation (and vintage car) book shop.
It’s great to see books “in the flesh” so to speak as opposed to just doint internet sales.
And even the book stores at places like Hendon & Duxford have the occasional bargains.
There is also an adjecent model car shop with lots of nice (and rare) diecasts.

Also in London, of course, is the Science Museum in South Kensington which contains an aviation gallery. Among other a/c there, the most famous surviving deH 60 Moth G-AAAH “Jason” is on display.

Motor Books is in St Martin’s Court (I think) a narrow pedestrian passage between St. Martin’s Lane and Charing Cross Road. Nearest Tube (underground Station) is Leicester Square, but it’s only 5 mins walk from Trafalgar Square. Well worth a visit. As the name implies, the bookshop is divided into several units, one dealing with militaria, another transport, generally. An added bonus is the “Marquis of Salisbury” pub just opposite in St. Martin’s Lane.
Or there’s the Ian Allen Bookshop South of the Thames next to Waterloo Station in a road called “the Cut” (there’s a street market there often). The bookshop is at the Waterloo Road end. I imagine both establishments are on the web so you can check their details. Ian Allen majors in railway and transportation, but there’s some military stuff there too. (watch the dodgy trainspotter-types lurking around – with apologies to “dual enthusiasts” on the forum !! )

visiting London
If you are staying in London how about a visit to the Battle of Britain Monument on the embankment next to the Houses of Parliament, here you will see the names of all the New Zealanders that flew in the Battle.
Also, up the road (about two miles) the RAF church of St Clement danes.
If you are willing to jump on a train to Bexleyheath (30 minute ride from central London) I’ll meet you and drive you to the Battle of Britain museum in Hawkinge for a day out.

Not an aviation book/memorabilia place. But can I recommend Brooklands museum?
Since you are already at Duxford, why not visit the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden?
Since you´re already in London, why not wist the IWM at Lambeth (sp?)?
These places have exellent shops selling memorabilia. And all have good museums as an add on:D:D
