Horsham St Faith

Has anyone been to the museum? Its one of the best small museums I have been too. I have loaned about 20 of my models to the museum.

I would like to have a go at raising the money for a replica spitfire for the collection – they have a good line up of relevant post war types to the airfields history. I feel a spit would really look the part, didnt the former gate guard recently emerge in Canada?

Was up there last night, the builders are tearing down the old guardroom 🙁

Took a few photos for old times sake, it was the Families Club in my day. Apparently they can’t find the original land owner to pass the site back to.

Humm, don’t go there, Was involved in a massive refurb of that place in late 03 after the fire boss at Coltishall shut it down, due to the main hall being a fire death trap (big voids between the old courtyard wall and the false wall panelling). The team of which I was a member had pretty much had totally refurbished the whole place when Neatishead got drawndown and Coltishall got closed.

re

When I had a look in the Vulcan, I obviously went up the ladder carefully. The old chap who must have been at least 70, sprang up with the enthusiasm of a 12 year old!

It really is a wonder collection with a very positive approach. The exhibits are in superb ocndition, the curator knows what he is talking about and the overall attitude tends to be positive and forward thinking.
