I remember reading about someone called Robs Lamsplough who had recovered three Spitfire wrecks from Israel in the mid 1970s. These were then eventually stored in Duxford for a while. Does anybody know which Spitfires these were (serial-numbers?). Surely they must be still around today.
Is any one of them flying?
Regards
Peter

The aircraft arrived at various times
TE566 – Dec 76
MJ730 – Dec 76
PT462 – May 83
AFAIK
There were also 4 x P-51, 1 Yak C-11 and a Hurricane IV

Don’t forget the P-51’s, I remember them sitting in the sheds in their Israeli markings.

I count four, but the experts will I’m sure have some corrections!
PT462 (G-CTIX – airworthy, Wales)
TE517 (assigned G-CCIX – stored pending restoration?)
TE566 (ZU-SPT – fatal crash, 2002, South Africa. Remains stored for possible restoration?)
MJ730 (N730MJ – airworthy in US)
