In 12 o,clock high when the B17 crash lands at the start, was that filmed at Lavenham?. I know they filmed some parts of it at Lavenham because the airfield was in good condition, in 1949. It was the 487th bomb group’s home airfield.
But, does anybody know where they filmed B17 crash:confused:

looks like today the 487th would have done their 48th mission, bombing the La Briqueterie and Val-des-Joncs V-Weapon sites, France

I’ve read in an older AAHS Journal an article about making the movie in which they state that they sprayed lots & lots of water on the field and runway to help it look like the “wet” UK.

Thanks, you would’nt have thought it was America in that scene, it looked so much like England.
Thanks again
