I thought the RNHF had stripped 345 of all spares to help 930?
655 is a stunning restoration, shame about the modern cockpit tho.

Wasn’t it T20 WG655 that had the altercation with the trees after suffered an engine failure when flying with the RNHF?

I was suggesting the (engineless?) former RNHF spares airframe VZ345 may be used to help with the completion of the rebuild of VX653 and as a source of spares to keep WG655 flying.

Whatever the plans are it is great to see so many of these wonderful aircraft returning to the UK skies.

Spares?

Obviously not, I presume this is the one that had an altercation with some trees.

So, what happened to the 2 seater that was liberated from Iraq a few years ago? Anyone??

Bruce

I heard it went to Boscombe Down and then things got politically sensitive. Last heard of as a hot potato…;)

Is it still intact or reduced to spares to assist potential rebuilds……..?

TT

Won’t this come under the “the Iraq (UN Sanctions) Order 2003” in which anyone possessing Iraqi cultural property must give it to the police and what caused Boris Johnson having to hand over a cigar case once belonging to Iraq’s former deputy prime minister Tariq Aziz?

We all love Sea Furies, they’ve been in short supply recently, but why three, it seems a little extravagant with other projects on the go. I’m not knocking it, the more the merrier, perhaps there’l be a 6 ship at Legends 2010.

Somebody on planetalk put up these serials.

WG655, VZ345, VX653

http://forum.planetalk.net/viewtopic.php?t=6553

VX653 is their current restoration.
VZ345 is the RNHF spare airframe that was up for sale
WG655 is the former RNHF aircraft that crashed and then restored in the States.
