I’ve long been a supporter of placing rare or one of a kind aircraft in places where they’ll be better appreciated….and usually that means back to their homelands.
The Arado was on exterior display at Willow Grove NAS in Pennsylvania for many years. Somewhere, I have some USN-supplied B&W photos of it, circa 1982.
Its “neglect” as JagerMarty puts it, was simply on outdoor display (in a secure area and painted every few years), no worse than many other aircraft the world over. It was seen at the time as a war prize, not much more.
