The last, and most colourfull, Dutch Spitfires

Today, I received 4 damaged and faded pics of some 50 years ago, showing the last Dutch Spitfires being operated out of Texel. They were used by Schreiner as target tugs. They were all scrapped, or that is the story, as one Schreiner used Spitfire might have survived in a small Dutch village not far from my home. BW Roger

With some luck I receive some more slides soon. Hope they are also showing the orange ones, as I am less (better said not) interested in the camouflaged/silver military ones (unless they are duals). BW Roger

Interesting photos, thanks for sharing them. If I’m not mistaken the last of the four appears on the back cover of the book “Dutch Spitfires, A Technical Study”. The others are new to me though. Thanks again!
