Aircraft down and safe?

From a family member of a good friend, I have just received a report that a single engined aircraft with a five blade propeller was seen at Finmere airfield, near Buckingham, at 14:00 today, Saturday.

Very strange. A mock up? A film? …a problem?

Can anybody confirm?

And doesn’t she look fabulous in front of a period hangar?

Thanks for posting that, it’s made my morning!

It is. He lives locally, is a member of the Windrusher’s gliding club and he and 434 are relatively regular ‘stopover’ visitors if display commitments bring him in this direction.

Many thanks for closing the loop.

Well I didn’t actually say Spitfire. 🙂

My concern was the report of a five blade propeller, which cuts down the number of Spitfire possibilities considerably…and alarmingly.

MH434 of course has a four blade prop.

Many thanks.

There is still a fair section of runway at Finmere as it is used for micro lights but you should be able to get something bigger into it.

But there is no hangerage there anymore or any running ATC so was it an emergancy landing and isn’t MH434 a spitfire?

Mark – my bro in law is gliding out of Hinton, but due to F1 GP helis etc this w/end they are operating out of Bicester.

He did tell me 2 days ago that one of this variety of aeronautical carriage was due to overnight at Bicester tonight between displays elsewhere and he hopes to get pix….but no more info

Hope you’re well, best regards

5 blader….?

There’s a Glasair flying around at the moment with a turbine and 5 blade prop (G-ICBM), but i remember Finmere as being rather short
