This may be of interest to some readers here as No. 75 Squadron used to be an RAF squadron. I have just read on the New Zealand Herald site that Red McCowatt has sadly passed away.
Flt LT.William Kennedy (“Buddy” “Red”) McCowatt (Reg No: 79599) was well known as the secretary of the No. 75 Squadron RNZAF Association and he used to run their website. He helped me with several enquiries in the past.
He served with No. 75 Squadron in Singapore from 1959 to 1962.
Red passed away peacefully on Saturday 21 June 2008 at home, after a long illness. He was aged 68.
Red’s funeral was held in Rotorua on Thursday 26 June. The paper asks that all communications please, to Barry McCowatt, 27 Toko Street, Rotorua. Ph: (07) 349-2468
