I’m hoping someone can tell me, with some degree of accuracy, which of the following orders were completed for the DH6. The total orders were 2950 aircraft but I’ve been told that War in the Air suggests that only 1754 had been delivered as of October 1918 and that by the 31st of that month, some 1050 were on charge. I know that of the Harland & Wolff order for 300, some 100 were delivered and 200 cancelled. If anyone can help with the list below it would be very much appreciated.
A9563 – 9762: 200 – Grahame-White Aviation Co. Ltd., Hendon.
B2601-3100: 500 – Aircraft Manufacturing Co., Hendon.

Chris.
Thanks for that. There are so many conflicting figures around it gets a wee bit baffling at times.
I think you’re quite possibly right about the last but one batch from Airco being cancelled. I suspect that the last batch of 50 from Grahame White may have been part of the 75 sets of complete but unbuilt airframes and 100 completed and built airframes allegedly burned on the orders of the Air Board.
I’ll amend my typo on the earlier batch, well spotted. I’ve read through that list no end of times and never noticed it. I blame small keys and elephant’s fingers.

DH6 per ‘Putnam’
Kev
TAJ Jacksons ‘De Havilland Aircraft since 1909’ says that “At least 2,282 DH6were built, some 600 less than those actually ordered …” Alas no details of the cancelled contracts.
Your serial list omits the 2 prototypes A5175 and A5176 – both Airco.
Not wishing to appear as a smartass but your list (per Putnam) should show B9031 – B9130 not B9139 :).
The Punam by J M Bruce ‘British Aeroplanes 1914 – 1918 gives contract numbers for all but D8581 – D8780. This might indicate that these 200 were cancelled.
