Just watched a documentary on the Berlin Airlift and caught the name of Thornton on an aircraft, probably on a DC.4.
There is a Thornton Airlines in Boston about which I could find no further details, so has anyone any knowledge of ‘Thornton’ during the airlift?

Could be, watched the second episode tonight and the mystery name did not appear. Got another programme to watch and hope it appears.:)

Newforest, Could that possibly have been Hornton Airways, and possibly Dakota G-AKLL, which flew on the airlift ? It amassed 108 sorties during 301.25 flying hours, carrying 397.5 tons of freight ? all this from my treasured book “The Berlin Airlift” by Robert Jackson ? Keith.
