south east asia command – fighter colours

any experts there? am digging around at home on a day off, bliss…

anyhow, I’m looking at some colour plates of P-47’s and late mark Spits, some are (forgive descriptions) dark green/dark brown as the P-47 is in the RAF museum, some are dark green/dark grey – to top it off I have two images of “Ginger Lacy’s” MK XIV in both schemes – can’t imagine the RAF at the time having spray shops in the jungle !??

anyhow – were both used, is the MK XIV scheme open to debate, Osprey late mark spitfire aces book says green/grey and to top it off, there is a 1/48 scale die cast due out later this year (nice….. MK XII will like them) in the green/brown.

Just asking….. off to pick up the BSG juniors from school now, any knowledge out there?
