The Solway Aviation Museum is looking for anyone that served or anyone that knows someone who served at RAF Crosby-on-Eden during the war years, as we are trying to compile the history of the airfield.
Most people that served at Crosby where from the North East we have been told so it is very hard to let people know that we are searching for them, the station had over 3000 personnel during its service life.

I still hope you are interested in the personnel from Crosby-on-Eden. My father was stationed there from late 1942 until the end of the war. He was ground crew. He also kept a diary for most of the time & mentions several people & life around the field. Also, if you do have information about this period, I would be most interested. RAF Crosby
My late father was stationed at Crosby on Eden during WW2. In fact it is where he met his bride to be and my mother. Sadley he passed away in 1980. I have his log books. He was at Crosby while with 143 sqn on Beaufighters and later with the North Coates Beaufighter Strike wing, and later with 254 Sqn in Mossies.
