Yes, Halton was a great w/e, congratulations to the the RAF and particularly the station commander for encouraging the event. A good mix of flying with some less usual types, especially liked the Jungmann.

Met up with several forumites and enjoyed some good chats. Especially thanks to G-ASEA for the tour of the a/c. Really wish you well with the rebuild.

It is a pity there were no overseas visitors to the Moth Rally but suppose you can’t have everything……….!!!

….if you get the chance, you gotta see the raf apprentices museum! it’s in one of the hangars, and is quite fascinating! Not just for the apprentices pieces that were made, but also the early apprentices uniforms. They’ve got kit layouts, room layouts, etc. It really doesn’t do itself justice – you have to see it!

Hi Tim
Yes it is a great little museum,I was a ‘brat’ myself 1970-72 and usually visit Halton twice a year, there was a Kirby Cadet glider at the museum last time I went up there, don’t know if it is still there!
At least these days the SWO (station warrant officer) is polite to me 😀 😉

cheers baz
