I always enjoy seeing and hearing a Pembroke in action. Brings back memories of my time at Wildenrath before 60 Sqn lost theirs. It used to make a change to hear them pottering around after those noisy, smelly firecans.

Owners are Andrew and Geraldine Dixon who are also restoring the Bournmeouth Sea Prince WP321 (G-BRFC) to flying condition aided by DeHavilland Aviation

Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t knocking it. I agree that they should be flown and if, as in the case of machines like the Pembroke, they can be used as personal transport that’s a bonus. I wish I had the finances to do the same. Like I said before, fair play to the owner (I’m sorry I can’t remember his name) and I hope he has many more years of pleasure in her.

She should be as she’s in the safe hands of someone who cares. I know it can’t be economical but fair play to the owner for actually using it as a family transport. I met him at Abingdon a few years back nand was totally gobsmacked when he told me that.
I dont see why not, it good its actualy being used and loved. Take hangar 11 they dont just come out for displays there like a clasic car to the owner always out and about and doing whats best which is flying them 🙂
