the flight on the 4th June was the first in 12 years……with Chris Taylor as CAA CTP at the controls

I believe John O’Hara will be doing most of our flying, the insurance company want people with more than 1000hrs piston to fly it. (they asked how many hours one of the previous test pilots had and reducedit ‘reasonably’. Chris Taylor only just made it.)

Yep we got an invitation to Sywell and to the Neville Duke Memorial at Compton Abbas on Aug 17th. Unfortunately I can’t get to either. I still need to cadge a flight…

Not the first time in twelve years, she has made several test flights recently with Clive Davidson at the controls;)

We look fwd to her displaying at Sywell Airshow:)

Just seen this, glad someone noticed.

It was indeed G-BOPO, she flew with Chris Taylor at the controls for the first time in 12 years. The restoration was finished the previous month but bad weather and pilot unavaidability slowed the flight. Understandably almost no-one is current in the type. After the first flight BOPO went off with John Edgley aboard for a 3 hr engine run.

What people see when they go to TX is BMPL on the grass (hopefully she’ll move in the future to a local a/c museam, being the Hampshire Police aircraft) what they dont realise is that BOPO is indoors ready to go.

The Photos of her in the hangar were taken by one of the mechanics who worked on her through the restoration, thats his album.

I assume so, that is a great helicopter website, perhaps needs its own thread for wider recognition!:)
