I have a badly scratched model of a meteor F3 1/32nd scale, that i was told once graced the office of the C.O at cranwell -can anyone say whether it would be worth much, or where i should take it to get it valued, please?

Yes got it ok. Very nice it looks as well. I would say its one of those types that were in the recruiting office windows of 50s and 60s. More than likely other offices as well which would explain why yours came from Cranwell. I hope it finds a good home.
Best Wishes.

It doesn’t require you to make a username.

It would’ve helped-if only photo bucket would realise there’s nothing wrong with my user name!!

I think you’re probably right, Robert!- next question is (obviously???) how do i get a pic from my phone to this thread-anyone???
Do you have a lead that has a connection from your phone to a usb terminal?
Or
Can you email from your phone?
Once its on your computer you can then upload it to photobucket or similar and put it on the thread
Hope this helps

From the description it sounds like one of those models that used to grace the windows and interiors of RAF recruiting offices in the 60s. Might be wrong, probably am.
Best Wishes.

Depends how severe the scratches are and what the potential is for the missing element of the stand to be replicated but you’re probably talking of c. £250 – £300 I guess.

…And basic RAF markings – but no codes

All i can say is that its made of metal- and quite heavy-the scratches show it to be white coloured metal although the model itself is painted silver-i would say its overall shape is very accurate, but the canopy area is just painted black, i have the base, but the stand is missing and i don’t have any support regarding documents either!-it was given to me by an ex-national serviceman

Unless you can give more details it’s not feasible to evaluate – what’s it made of , is it mounted on a stand, how detailed / accurate is it, what’s the supporting provenance?
