I received the new Haynes Lancaster Manual for my birthday yesterday, and it’s every bit as good as the Spitfire one. Nice one, Fluffy! 🙂

Come on Z mate, can not be that bad :p
Look at just how much FUN  it is to work on old Pommie car’s and Motorbike’s.
Wonder’s of tecno were they NOT! 😀 😀
Don’t get me wrong, if it shows up at the local bookstore I will buy it, but I wouldn’t be surprised it they said it was a biplane 😀

I’m in two minds about these books..
One on hand I’d want it because of the subject matter
But on the other hand, as a pro mechanic, I know how truly dire & bloody useless their other manuals are….

I will echo the previous comments – another excellent addition to my library, with lots of useful information. Thanks Fluffy! 😀

Dan

Glad you like it 🙂 , Bf109 next, still hope to do the Hurricane but the marketing men at Haynes believe it is to similar to the Spitfire , but you never know as Mrs Fluffy has been on to them about it already 😀

And the book is available everywhere, all good bookshops and really bad ones too, etc!
Not where I live…

Well, I’d certainly buy a copy! Maybe Fluffy will be along later and might elaborate on the decision not to do one for the Hurri?

Stuart! 😀 😀 😀
Hi Lancman
I would have thought there would be an equal demand for a Hurricane book? Especially as the BBMF has two.

I think Fluffy has previously said that there were no plans for a Hurricane one, but that there would be one for another aircraft he’d worked on,which manyof us took to maybe mean Black 6?
Thinking about it, a Hurricane one, in the format these books are, would be rather similar to the Spitfire one.

Its a good book indeed….. are they planning a Hurricane one too?
Next one up is the Hornet (an extinct type apparently) surprised you didn’t know!

Do they sell theses in car spares shops like the other Haynes manual’s or is it mail order only?
