G-AJRB News

Just to say that she has now left Eggesford (yesterday) and is now based at her new home at Headcorn.

Today, flew in Chrislea SkyJeep G-AKVR to Brimpton for their fundraising day and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Thanks to all those who made the day that little bit special. Thinking about it (sadly) I must now hold the most SkyJeep passenger time as have some 5.4 hours. ‘VR’ only flew 1.5 from Exeter in 1948 until she was shipped to Australia.

We tried to make it to Compton Abbas on the way home, but the airfield was completely full and they were only accepting visitors on a one for one basis. I take my hat off to the chap on the radio – never ever known it to be so busy.

Best wishes to all,

Martin

TT,

Not really, said Auster moved from north west corner of Headcorn hangar to south eastern corner, at least 100′ further away from you!

Aah, that ‘JRB! Based as in flying or based as in similar condition to photo?

Based as in flying condition of course. Restoration was conducted by Richard Webber at Eggesford and the airframe is now in pristine condition and a superb example of that marque of Auster. A wonderful restoration indeed.
