I am looking to obtain some rubber ‘O’ rings to organise the wiring on the back of an instrument panel. The only references I have are for the following Vickers General Spares (VGS): –
VGS4234/1
VGS4234/2
VGS4234/3
Does anyone know whether they are still available or there are modern/AGS alternatives? Failing that, does anyone have details of the dimensions of these ‘O’ rings?
Many thanks
Michael

Thanks Alan, much appreciated. I have a feeling though that these VGS parts were circular in cross-section and used to group single core cables together.
Thanks also for the heads-up on Popham.

Hi Michael,
I cannot help with details of VGS stuff, but here is some info on B.S. (British Standard) grommets, widely used in the aero-industry of the ’40/50s etc.
Nitrile grommets are intended for use in engines where resistance to petroleum based fuels is more important than resistance to ozone. With neoprene grommets, it’s the reverse. I expect this means you are looking for neoprene grommets?
p.s. If you haven’t spotted the Popham thread, don’t journey there tomorrow – it has been postponed ’til 2-3rd August!
