Following is from AP1086 Book 7 sec 6A to A/L 18 dated 31st Jan 1950:

Electrical Transmitting Air Temperature Indicator Mk2A, minus 70 to plus 30 degrees C, 24Volt Luminous, ratiometer type.

looks like a radiator temp gauge to me (the back is very similar to oil temp and air temp!)
