Hi Mark,
I’ve got a fair few photo’s of UP-G, including several of the one Dudley pranged and flipped, I’ve still get the letter he wrote to me about the incident before he passed, I’ll have a closer look at the photo’s for your serial number, plus I’ll review the footage I’ve got of that air to air sequence. the reason I chose those shots, specifically because it could have been Dudley flying them, plus I think Geoff Wilkinson might have been leading a section in one of the other sequence of shots, both of whom I interviewed. Funny thing is, there were a large number of 79 squadron blokes involved in the doco. What’s your connection with the RAAF pilot who sent you the doco, are you a veteran yourself? Look forward to hearing from you.

Well I’m glad you enjoyed it, as I made it off my own back, using what skills I had as a camera man, and it was funded out of my own pocket, and took me 5 years to make due to that. So please keep your copy to yourself, I have no problems with that. As for UP-G, are you referring to the air to air sequence with 79squadron, with the white tail markings? If so, I think that was flown by Dudley Grinlington in the pacific at that time, I can go back through my records and have a look
S.K.
My copy was sent to me by an ex RAAF Spitfire pilot who I ssume recorded it from an Australian History Channel programme.
There was more than one UP-G I am sure, but I hope it was the late Dudley Grinlinton and George Gilbert’s machine JG891/UP-G, that they both flew.
When I return to the UK in a couple of days I need to check my files and the 79 Squadron ORB.

This was shown on Oz TV. A marvellous documentary and I have a copy
I suspect that one of the air to air sequences showing UP-G may be JG891. This still needs a little investigating when I return to the fold.
