As an aside, or even remaining on topic… there are at least 3 projects in the early stages to help save or improve former RAF airfields:
Eshott (Wings over Northumberland)
Weston Zoyland (Merkle, etc)
Driffield (Philip Rhodes)

any more?

Yes, merkle and me (plus others) are trying to get a/c back in weston zoyland circuit once again. From what ive headed we have a task ahead but it will happen im sure of it

anyone else in the same position?

Thanks Chaps.
Hadn’t read that far.. Only a quick glance and thought it might be of interest. If I had seen it was outdated I would have mentioned it. It is a shame to be losing so many of our bases!
