Just noticed some details about Newark’s Fighter Cockpit Days on their website:
“Those aircraft that we expect to be included within this event include:
Meteor NF12, Meteor FR9, Sea Harrier, Sea Hawk, Viggen, Draken, Super Sabre, MiG and the Swift and Phantom cockpit sections”.
More details here: http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/news.php

corssiathh,
I managed to take the fuselage pictures for you and will email them later today.
Sadly the cockpit was not accessible on the MiG23, only the MiG27 and then you could only view through the Perspex, which meant that I couldn’t get you a good cockpit shot. I will speak with my contacts at Newark next week to see what else can be arranged.
The other fighter cockpit viewing was very good [most open and easily photographable]; as for the Day / Night photo shoot [5pm until 11pm] – awesome!:D

With no chance for me to attend to this event, would it be possible to someone to takes some pictures of the MiG-23/27 cockpits and the fuselage just below the air intakes of the MiG-23M?
Don’t know whether this link might help re the intake shots…

What specifically are you looking for on the fuselage?
PM me with detailed requirements if you prefer.

Newark Air Museum seems to be trying to cover their bases weather wise this weekend!
“Fighter Cockpit Days May 24 & 25, 2008
Please remember that many of the aircraft cockpits that are available for viewing on Saturday and Sunday are inside our display hangars so they will be un-affected by any poor weather this weekend.”

My contacts at the museum also tell me that they hope to have the Vulcan open both days – an additional fee of 50p per person is normally charged for accessing this Cold War veteran.;)
By the way the Vulcan talk by John Laycock last night was excellent and he raffled a brand new 44 Squadron book.

You need to have a word with the “Sqn Ldr” if you also want to get onto the Phantom cockpit!;)
I presume these Meteor NF12 pictures are yours?
