Trying to identify a Lancaster part….

Hello,

I recently acquired some pieces reportedly from Lancaster PB669, which crashed on a training exercise east of Molesworth.

Most of the pieces are obvious, and indeed one or two have Air Ministry stamps.

But I am struggling to identify the piece in the picture below. I have pictured it with a ruler for scale. The middle section is about half an inch thick, but is thicker around the circular hole on the left and the ‘C’ shaped cut-out on the right where it broadens to about three quarters of an inch.

There seems to be a small piece missing from the right hand end (as Pictured), where there seems to have been another hole aprroximately half an inch in diameter.

Does anybody have any ideas about what this could be?

Many thanks,

Steven.

Have to agree with Fluffy, it is part of the landing gear.
