There was a show after the Harrier incident which I to was at. The following year we couldnt get to the event due to bad weather we we were which was a pain as we were only 20mins flying time away. Believe the weather was a problem at the event as well and the club suffered with low attendance and this put a hole in the clubs finances.

As far as Im aware there are no plans for future show due as usual to a variety of reasons eg number of people required to actually commit long term to organise and put on the event, yes Insurance costs, you wouldnt believe how much the police want to organise traffic flow and “police” this basically regional airshow and all the other costs associated with a show and thats before you start looking at aircraft costs!

yes that was the one where the harrier sucked up quiet a bit of fod .good show though.pity no more.

I was there but I don’t remember that! Maybe I had left early to avoid the crowds.

It was 2002. I understand that it was the last one because the cost of insurance made it uneconomical to hold any more.
