Cobra strikes Wallop

Now that the new extension has been completed the Cobra is now back on permenant display (it used to have to be removed every time the Army Air Corps held a ‘wings parade’ and frankley it was a bit of a bug##r to move). It has now taken up a position where it need to shift again as has the Chipmunk and runway control caravan.
The runway control caravan should have a ‘Kill’ marking as a wayward Chipmunk once removed a wing against it. The accident report contains one of the best typos I’ve ever seen. Describing the accident it states that “after losing a wing the aircarft became inverted and slid for 30 years before coming to a halt”. 😀
