Well, I don’t have any more photos from the plane or the event other than the photos at the link. However, I took this one today at the Finnish Aviation Museum! :p

Gloster Gamecock and Thulin typ. D (at the background).

From the event or from the aeroplane?

It is unusual to see such good quality photos from that time!especially ski equipped a/c.Any photos from Finland are fascinating.
Thanks for posting it.

Re: the event or the aeroplane. Both would probably be the common answer, certainly mine anyway. If you have any more of either the event or the aircraft we’d be happy to see them.

What exactly do you mean by ‘Yellow’ squadron, please? I’m working on colour drawings of the Bulldog at the moment and you’ve raised my curiosity with this title!

Many thanks for a fantastic pic.

Hi Richard!

Well, the Yellows were the “good” guys and probably the “bad” guys were something like the Greens? Strange thing that the “bad” guys were always attacking from the east… 😀

The Bulldogs were from Lentoasema 5 (LAs 5).

Lovely photo… Got any more ????? 😀

From the event or from the aeroplane?

Is that a camera gun on the upper wing?

Hello Alex!

Indeed it is. The precise model is Fairchild CG 16. These cameras were modified to fit aviation use. I have seen only one photo taken with this type of camera. Maybe the rest were destroyed by the Finnish Air Force in the great cleanup of 1950s and 60s?

Nice photo. Considering its age it’s an excellent photo.
