Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if a complete set of plans for the hurricane (any mark) exists. I have seen there are some available at http://www.hurricanerestoration.com but they dont seem to have any for the joints (a-h in particular). Just wondered if anyone knew where i could find them?
Regards,
Dave

The problem is that Hurricane plans have always been in short supply…the usual legends about losses in fires etc. Some probably true, some not, the fact is that getting plans is difficult…I have been doing my asthmatic tortoise pace restoration for 25+ years and have very few copies of original plans, but lots of measurements and photos…..what do you need them for old chap?

I can see your point, but there does seem to be an abundance of spitfire plans floating around and yet restoration businesses still exist, therefore i dont see why plans for the hurricane would be any different?
I see your point too Dave. An interesting and thought provoking comment.

Yes there are about 3000 Spit drawings available but nowhere near complete. You have to do a lot of study and engineering to get something out of them.

Come on, be realistic. The people who make a living out of restoring them have to have some way of making sure they can carry on making a living out of it. What better way than to make sure you are the only organisation with the plans for a vital part of the build method? Sorry, being facetious again, but it may be closer to the truth than I realise.
