The Boeing 747 was a serving ‘Northwest Orient’ bird at the time & again, going by (beer addled) memory, there were FIVE fighters on each wing…

I seem to remember that Northwest Orient were “the” chief sponsers that year, before the Daily Mail took over in subsequent years, then Intrepid did (finally) before closure of the event sometime in the mid 1990’s

Yes, I “do” have a picture (probably several), that’s for certain, BUT, sadly my ol’ XP Tower that my scanner/printer/copier is rigged up to has just gone ****-up….. (I’m typing this on a laptop round a relative’s house), so, sadly won’t be uploading the picture any time this side of Christmas…. (presumably & besides, my 35mm shots spanning some 30+ years are in deep-storage:(), so, sometime early next year when it’s either fixed or I’ve hitched & configured my Epson scanner up to my laptop (God forbid, it’s like hauling a caravan :D), I’ll give you a shout & forward a copy on, if yer still interested ?
