No it’s a nose turret we imported from Aus. The Aussies were the first to modify their early model B24’s to take the A6. Ours is defiantly hinged.
Some photos here of the B24 nose conversion in Aus.

For completness pictures of the rear of the door I have.
Also spotted some part numbers and inspectors stamps.
There are small wheels on the bottom of the extensions to allow it to roll on a lip.

The little info I have says that the A6A was the original tail turret and it was modified using mainly same parts as the A6 for the nose.
These pics from Aus show the A6a with sliding door and the A6 with hinges for the nose door.

like my A6A sliding door the image of the tail turret shows the little sprods with wheels at top and bottom that allowed it to slide on a rail.
Dan I thought yours was a tail turret ?

We are restoring an A6 and we are missing both doors, hence if it were for sale or looking for a home then we would be very interested in it for the project.
Some photos of the project can be seen here:

Just found this , almost certain the right hand door. Apparently a Consolidated A6 turret?

Could this not be the rear turret fairing “doors” as in the Whitley instead? It does look similar to the example at Coventry’s Midland Air Museum from what I can see?

I have a B24 tail turret door and it is a slider so we need to be more specific on the variants.
The consolidated tail turret model A6A had sliding doors.
The B24 also used Emerson turrets that hinged doors.

I know this is a quite old post and probably been solved long ago, but these doors appear a good match on the Consolidated B24 tail turret.

Definately not Lanc
It doesnt look anything like the FN 120 or 121 rear turret doors as there is a uniguq locking handle on the left side door and a round windo on the right side door and this door has neither of these items. I think Mikes correct it looks likea B24 type turett door.

I must admit that I thought it was Liberator as it came with stuff that included a Coastal Command Lib….any hoo it is the same as a Lanc rear turret door we saw in a museum last year…which confused me!! The data plate has details of the gun triggers etc…will try and phot it

I’d say it’s from a Consolidated tail turret.
