'Angels One Five' – The final confirmation that…

… two surviving Spitfires were used.

A 35mm screening of ‘Angels One five’ a year or so back confirmed that it wasn’t all Portuguese Hurricanes. They played the major part but there were a couple of early Spitfires parked at the back.

A chance to inspect the film stock under a glass confirmed that the Science Museum’s P9444 was used and that a second Spitfire, with serial obscured, appeared to be K9942 by virtue of camouflage pattern comparison.

I am indepted to ‘Septic’ for pointing me at this still of Jack Hawkins with K9942 on ebay a couple of weeks back. 🙂

Sounds exciting. Any idea where I could inspect the film stock of ‘Dangerous Moonlight’ or ‘Eagle Squadron’?
