The official title is a pipe spooling operation ! Pipes are joined together in the workshops then travel on rollers out to the ship where they are placed on a giant reel, look at the close up pic in the ships section search for CSO Apache.The ship travels all over the world laying pipelines.
There are still original buildings in use at Evanton,I will be adding those pics in the next week .

Great website Gary.
What is evanton used for nowadays,i presume oil rig support.
Was the third ‘runway’ specially built to align the mole with deep water perhaps ??
