Gloster Meteor D 16 help needed

I am currently building a highly detailed model of the Meteor D16 and am gathering as much imformation on the type as possible. Whilst documentary information is not too hard to come by photographic evidence is not as plentiful. I have downloaded every photograph from the net and have every book on the type. Do any members of the forum have any unpublished photos that would assist me with the project?

Meteor D 16

I’m OK for colour matches but details of the camera pods would be fantastic, especially where exactly the camera ports are on the pods and what they look like. Am currently scrath building a Derwent 8 to go in the model.

U16 info

I have some U16 parts from which you can get good red and yellow colour matches if you need them. Also got wing-tip camera pods if measurements and nav light positions are required.

Bentwaters Cold War Museum

Hello Martin

The Museum at Bentwaters in Suffolk is restoring a former D.16 drone Meteor back to its F.8 fighter variant.

They are likely to have a good photographic record of its history and previous guise.

Hope this helps?
