Hi All,
As some of you know I’ve been working on a book on the Early Warbird Collectors and Movement.
One person names keep comes up that I have no information on nor it seems that anyone know how to get any information.
I’m looking for any contact/information on Charles Babb from Montreal.
He was an well know arms dealer in the mid 40s he handle allot of the Ex RCAF AT-16 that end up going to the Swedish/Netherland/Swiss/West German Air Forces along with quite a few B-25s,P-51s and various other Canadian Aircraft and Armour.
Does anyone have any photos of his operation or at least can give me a clue into what direction to search.
Thanks in advance

rings a bell…
so a quick index search reveals…
Charles Babb is pictured in “Canada’s Air Force at War and Peace” Vol. 3 (page 36) – photo credit DHC/Bombardier Aerospace 10043. Written and published by Larry Milberry (Canav books, 2001 – ISBN 0-921022-13-1) I was the designer/production department on Vols 1,2 and 3)
Quoting the combined photo caption in question… “Surplus wheeler-dealers Charles Babb and Don McVicar. Babb likely was North America’s most avid such enterpriser. …”
Assuming his operation was the ‘Babb Co.’ then his operations are mentioned several times in Milberry’s “Air Transport In Canada Vols. 1 and 2”
Agreed with Richard… try contacting CAHS and/or Larry Milberry directly.

A suggestion
Can’t say I know the name. Suggest you check out the Canadian Aviation Historical Society website, cahs.ca and ‘Contact Us’ for some email addresses. There is a chapter in Montreal and several in Ontario. I would be very suprised if one of those folks couldn’t steer you right.
cheers,
r.
