In the past 3 days we’ve had multiple showings of The War Lover, we also had some Cagney film where he was a Cunuck bush pilot & ended up flying Hudsons (to the stars?) & yesterday a John Mills film that started with Bostons & ended with B17’s filmed someplace portrayed at “Halfpenny field or green..” 😎 🙂

Most (all?) of the B-17’s used were scrapped after filming of ‘the war lover’ – nobody wanted them!

Watched “The War Lover” last night myself. Great clips of the B-17, especially the ones buzzing the field at under 10′ altitude!!! Wow!! Good candidate for low flyers category! Lots of clips of 109’s and 190’s whizzing past as well. Good blend of real footage with movie footage. Well done.
Robert Wagner and Steve McQueen….both VERY young!
