RAF DA2 Typhoon at Hendon

The RAF prototype DA2 Typhoon has just been delivered to Hendon and is partially complete in the Milestones of Flight Gallery. Restricted viewing is available this weekend 1000 till 1800. The rest of the “build” will continue next week therefore this is a rare opportunity to see under the skin of the Typhoon. The airframe will be suspended in the next month or two in the place originally taken by the replica.

Yes very quick, only a few short months ago I snapped her in 29 Sqd hanger looking ready for flight.

She really should be at Cosford with the other experimental jets and not in the ‘milestones of flight’ hall (that name couldn’t be further from the mark).

So thats DA1 and DA2 safely retired, that just leaves the Italians to find a home for DA3 or 7 and the Germans a home for DA5 when they are retired.

DA4 is still at Coningsby as a GI airframe.

Wow nice pics there sea dog.

It is good to see a prototype eurofighter been preserved and the black one to boot and it looks like she will be staying black unless the RAFM decided to give her spurious squadron colours?
