Hi there,
Can anyone please inform me of any second hand book shops in the Coventry area? As I have a friend which will be in the area and I will ask him to bring some books back and I donโt want to send him on a wild goose chase.
Thanks in advance for all you help.

Only aware of a single second-hand bookshop in Coventry (apart from the one at MAM mentioned) these days – it’s on Walsgrave Road.
Proceed out of city centre towards Leicester/M.69 (the way to Hinckley and MCAS mentioned above) for about 1/2 – 3/4 mile, up and over “Ball Hill” and it’s on the left (on a corner) – if you get to the traffic-light junction with NatWest Bank on the corner you’ve passed it ๐ฎ
Last time I visited (about 6 months ago) it appeared to have changed hands and there wasn’t much aviation content at all ๐ก
Lost two others in the area recently Portland Books in Leamington Spa about a year ago (gone onto the ‘net I think) and, only a few months ago, Armstrong’s – near me in Earlsdon, Coventry.
There are two shops in Smith Street, Warwick (about 10 miles from Coventry) and, further out, one in Kineton and one in Stratford-upon-Avon.
This is, of course, apart from the book sections of the many Charity shops which along with the ‘net have probably brought about the demise of the second-hand bookshop.

Hi…
Midland Counties in Hinckley have a rather large aviation second hand section…well worth a look!

Steve
Must go along with this warehouse . full of aviation books mags etc new and 2nd hand. a short drive up the M69 from Cov to Hinckly turn off A5 north for about 1 mile . Midland counties is on the New industrial estate . ON YOUR RIGHT .
like i said about 5 minutes drive from the outskirts of Cov M6 . TO M69 . to A5
also as been posted above and just a short distance down the A46 from the M6 is Coventry air museum. kill to birds with 1 stone here by having a good look around the museum based aircraft and the selection of books and models. i would say you could go from the Museum to midland counties book warhouse by car in around 15 minutes at legal speeds.

Not in Coventry, but well worth a day out, is the book town of Hay on Wye. No self respecting bibliophile should ignore this mecca!
