I recall reading about 20 or 30 years ago that the then-Confederate Air Force had found a Ju87 in Spain. SCW?

I believe there was an early Bf109 recovered to the UK by Robs Lambsplough ? many years ago . Was this at one time displayed at Tangmere ? Not sure if it was more than a shell . One of the Rata’s recovered and restored to airworthy condition by Sir Tim Wallis , was sold on to a Spanish museum a year or two ago .

Nice site, didn’t know it. A few years ago, the remains of a SCW 109 were salvaged from what is now Barcelona airport. It crashed there in soft terain, and was recovered from there when big construction works had to be done on the runway. BW Roger

Sadsack,

The best place to start looking would be at the Spanish Air Force museum in Cuatro Vientos – Madrid.

I’ll have a look through my photos later but I’m sure the He 111 is a genuine civil war survivor.

Try this excellent site for starters.
