Didn’t spend too long photo-ing the aviation exhibits today, I was mainly there for the cars anyway, plus it was chucking it down so heavily I spent as little time as possible outside, plus it was very very dark in the hangar. The inner left hand side propeller on the Viscount was turning freely, and when I was stood inside the Vanguard it was wobbling quite a lot, so I decided to get out of there sharpish!

Roe 1 biplane replica – looks like the wheels are off a shopping trolley!

Santos-Dumont Demoiselle replica

Sulton of Oman’s VC10 – Brooklands is definitely VC10 heavy, with this, a fuselage from Cosford and a cockpit section

VC10 cockpit – very nice interior, although didn’t see the point in fluffy toilet seat covers though

Viscount, which was damaged in an accident at Southend leading to its premature retirement

Viscount interior looking to the rear

Varsity

The impressive looking Vanguard

Never really been a fan of Concorde but did think this one looked rather nice

Hawker Fury replica

BAC 1-11

Hurricane under restoration – without wanting to sound too harsh, a lot of the replicas and also this Hurricane didn’t look quite right to me somehow, for example on the Hurricane the cowling looks quite stubby compared to a real one
