Hi Everyone,
Any more news on the Sunderland that was reported in the Lake District a few years ago and talk of it being raised this year.Whats the latest news ? is the lift off or what ?Is there a problem with ownership of the sunk aircraft or its a danger to the landscape ? or wildlife or, yes that old problem, money.
Any word on it ?.

There’s no Sunderland in the Lake District.
There was a report in The Times but the “sonar image” didn’t look quite like any other sonar image and it was all a bit of a muddle. Shame but then there are a couple of nice Sunderlands at Duxford, Hendon and MOTAT, Auckland.

if you do a search on the forum, i believe that this has been discussed before, the problems being with crewmean still within her hull??? though my mind hazes. im sure someone can clarify 🙂
