Sorry, can’t think where else to ask this.
The centre tanks on the FB.VI totalled 50 gallons, while on other models it was 93 or 136 gallons. (All according to the secondary sources I have.)
Why was this? Did the cannon feeds preclude the use of larger tanks? Was there unused space in front of the cannon feeds? Something else?
All input much appreciated.

Yes, its to do with the cannon feeds. The centre section of the wing is split into four internally – the rear two compartments have the fuel tanks in. The rest allows room around the cannons.
