6A/7002040

5975-99-700-2040 is a clamp as well.
6A/4984 shows up as a Smiths 420MV.

They’re certainly better than anything I’ve seen to date so far!

Interesting though- Bluebird’s gauge has the ‘X100’ marking below the centre of the gauge, as in my pics above, not above as shown here on what I’ll take be the ‘standard’ Gnat EXH gauge.

I wonder if the fact that Bluebird was pieced together from XM691- a prototype T.1- means that her gauge was slightly different to the production aircraft?

Do you have any photos of the gauge in situ in a Gnat?

Mike,

Not really. And the one’s i have are shown in airworthy aircraft so operational requirements may mean it’s not the original gauge. It’s also hard to photograph square on as the G gauge is almost directly in front of it. Are these any good…..

Do you have any photos of the gauge in situ in a Gnat? I’ve found a few online, but not much of any use, and I have no Gnat books or anything like that to reference form here.

Ok, if the other numbers are the clamps, so indeed 6A/4984 it is. 😀

6A/4984 is apparently a gauge, so that’s a start!

6A/1037233 is showing up a being a ‘securing clamp’, and I can’t find the other number at all. So, 4984 it probably is, then!

Mike/Bruce,

Ok…. i’ve finally had time to trawl through a Gnat parts AP. It states that this gauge can be either 6A/4984, 6A/1037233 or 6A/7002040.

If you find any, don’t forget i need one too, but please let the Bluebird have first refusal. 😀

Cheers……..

Just to aid anyone who might be able to help us find one of these, this is a mocked-up image of what the gauge we’re after looked like-

Not seen that type of switch – but I will see if I can find the gauges.

I may not have them, but you never know!

Lancman – I will sort out a selection of the other type of switch, and get back to you.

Bruce, by the sounds of it we might need a couple or so of each kind- 2 position, 3 position, sprung return etc. Would be very interested in hearing about anything you have, and the gauge too of course!! Thanks!
