As I was needed back in Leicestershire this weekend, I jumped at the chance to get as far away from London as possible for a few days. So on Saturday, me and my dad went over to the excellent Midland Air Museum to see the results of the efforts the hard working volunteers there have been putting in since my last visit in December last year. Despite the cold (it seemed warmer outside than inside the museum building!), had a great time, and well done to all the volunteers there keeping the exhibits in tip top condition.

Never really been a fan of post-war civil stuff to be honest, but this dH Dove was very nice

dHC Beaver and WWII Dodge WC63

Viscount, can’t wait to see this one done

Probably the meanest looking fighter ever, this Mig killing Phantom looks superb

F101 Voodoo

Lightnings

F104G Starfighter, the ‘widowmaker’

Never realised before how wide the Gannet is

Armstrong Whitworth Meteor NF14

Hawker Hunter F6A XF382

Gloster Javelin FAW5

The fantastic AW Argosy

The Whirlwind Series 3 looks fantastic in it’s new (well, old) Bristows colours

Great pics of a great museum, thanks for sharing!
I need to get up there myself, that to me is how an aviation collection should look, and the aircraft look well cared for. Some unusual types there aswel.
