Former North Weald Station Commanders house in the news

Not sure if this is of interest to anyone, but its tenuous connection to the former RAF Weald I’m sure makes it relevant to this forum.

Seems the current (or should that be, now former) owner of “Wing House” at North Weald, which was originally built for the station commander of RAF North Weald, has just been jailed for tax evasion. The final straw was when he appeared in the local paper, pictured in front of the property, asking if there was any truth to the rumours Winston Churchill or King George V stayed there, hoping it would bolster the property’s price and his social standing.
