Eder Dam damage

Most sources I’ve seen say that the rebuilt section of the Eder after 617’s attention can be identified because of a number of missing water overspill chutes.
You can see where they mean in any modern picture of the front of the Eder. But one of the more comprehensive websites devoted to the Dams Raid has what it says is a pre-raid picture of the dam:

Yet the water chutes are not there either. Has the webite used a mis-dated picture, or was the Eder built like that and we’ve all labouring under a misapprehension?

I had occasion to visit the dam in the late 60’s on a canoing expedition. The much lighter tone of the replaced semi-circular section was then very apparent and can just still be discerned on the colour photography posted.

The building behind the dam on the RHS lake edge as you look at it is (or was) a pub restaurant; from which we little ambassadors of the “U.K. forces of occupation ” duly competed in skipping stones across the lake towards the Dam.

Found this which shows all the chutes.

The ‘footbridge’ at the base of the dam also appears to be different.

This must have been swept away when the dam was breached and rebuilt to a different design.

Well done, looks like you’ve cracked it in one. Obviously the website picture is a post-1943 one: I’ll let ’em know.

The photo is captioned “Eder Dam, 1940’s (Before Attack)” but…

…could it not also be “Eder Dam, 1940’s (After Attack)”…but also after rebuild?
