Just wandering if anybody knows how much a 1944 MKV Auster would be worth ?????? in good condition with a little work could be used for ground runs

The former owner of G-AJRB could hardly shift his 5J1 for 3 grand iirc (no annual, Cirrus engine, had been sat outside for a few years).
Anyway (as the old argument goes) if an aeroplane could fly, it should…
Here’s one of ‘JRB in happier days, at the IAPC rally at Leicester East in 1978. Glad to hear that she is on the mend. Hope that one day I may see her in the warmer, bluer skies of my part of the world!

Ah, I can remember a time when the price was measured in hundreds rather than thousands. But that was long ago and far away……………………………

An Auster V can sell for anything up to about £16000 quite happily – at that price expect something really nice. An average example somewhere near 12-14 . For something which is as static – with an original engine I guess £6,000-without £4,000 .

£14K tops, even i good condition im affraid. The poor old Auster is not very sort after and therefore does not comand a high price. That Auster III maybe up for £25K but i doubt very much if it will sell for that, it will cost far more to restore than it will be worth im affraid:(

Airworthy i’d say about £15,000-£20,000, not much more than that, the Auster III which is being restored to fly is up for sale for £25,000 (not sure if the rest of the restoration is covered in that price) and is deemed as expensive even though it’s a rare type (in the UK there’s only two others). I’ll give you 50p and a curly wurly for it though!

Well airworthy would I guess be about £10k-14k, so work down from there?
Which airframe is it?
