Hi all,
yesterday the memorial place for the crew of Wellington Z1292 , crashed in the lit moon night of 30.11.1941 east of Kiel, was unveiled.
The daughter of Flt.Sgt. Frank Sumner (Tail gunner), Mrs. Jean Linton, came from Tasmania (Australia), the widow of Frank´s brother, Mrs. Patricia Sumner, and the grandnephew, Mr. Dean Sumner, came from England to the unveiling. The British embassy send Squadron Leader Ross Allan.
After my speech, first in German, then in English, Dean Sumner has spoken a few word, translated from Ross Allan in German.
A small group of bandsman makes solemn music, and a pastor sayed some words too.
Here are a few photos from unveiling. I collect all the made photos from the guests and will published they on my website then.
More about the research of the crash you can find on my website.
Maybe someone can tell me how to find the carried type of bomb load of Wellington Z1292 this night !? I need the types to clear the distribution of wrackage on the crash site.
Regards
Nils

Good work Nils.
The squadrons operational records book should hold details of the bomb load carried that night. You will find details of this on the national archives website.
Good luck
